this song by otis redding is an all time classic. it conveys simple things of life. sung by otis redding in a simple way. the songs ends with a cool whistle! the song is so simple…but that’s the greatness of this song…it is simple. it is as if that the song conveys : ” hey life is simple!…just don’t get uptight!” so take a break from this mad mad world and sing to yourself: “sitting on the dock of the bay…wasting time!!!” sit on the shores of the beach and gently sing this song. whistle the tune as otis redding does. look at the ships in the distance. look at the horzon. the beauty of it all. man,life is beautiful in it’s simplicity after all! cheers, mukxzz. hey,iam the first guy to give a user review for this album! what a surprise! i thought atleast 1000 folks would have done a review on this album! especially for the song : soak up the sun. oh! what a great song! the romance between man and sun is brought about so beautifullly in this video.(better watch the video that just listen to the song). how the waves chase the surfer in that song! those fearless dare devil surfers! that part of the video is really great! and there you have sheryl with the guitar! so natural. so much in harmony with everything that surrounds her! great vibes! the song kindles the adventurous spirit in one and all. it cleans the mind of all the crap it has been through! one feels young in mind,body,spirit after watching this video. over all it is one of the greatest top 50 songs of all time. cheers, mukxzz(msn space : mukxzz-space) Happy Browsing!!!…Keep Clicking!!!

such is the standards set by this unique artist! the richness of the lyrics and the terrific gravity of the underlying meanings separates him from others in this age of ‘baby pop’. face it,phil is not for the superficial music fans. it requires a lot of maturity and deep understanding of life to get attracted to his albums. infact,your insights into life and it’s deeper layers grows as you listen more and more to phill collins. this album is unique in the sense that all the songs have been written and composed by phil himself. phil is the singlemost bold person who has not been intimidated to compromise with commercial intrests. insipite of this he has been so successful.and he is very deserving of all that and more. come back phil and do more albums! this world needs your life transforming songs!
